hello

I think i may have a problem with my front wheel bearings

I can hear a droning noise coming from the front of the car

I know it's not the engine or exhaust causing the noise as i have had the car rolling with the engine off

I don,t think it's the driveshafts either as there is no vibration or clicking noises
i've had the car since 1996 and have had the bearings changed before i think in 1998 but can't remeber if it was the same symptons or not

does any know how i can check if it is the bearings or drive shafts?

the car runs fine apart fom this noise its an L reg with 72k on it

Does the noise get louder when you go round corners?

Loud droning noises which increase with roadspeed, but not engine speed are usually bearing related.

the noise does increase with road speed

ive got one knackered on mine at the moment too.

Bearing is about £25, and it needs pressing into the hub, which needs to be done at a workshop. They will charge anything fro £5-£15.

nah, my road tax and MOT have run out now so its SORN for the time being until i either fix the ABS or wire the bulb up to the ECU light, so ill fix the bearing too.
