Wanted - Track car and winter car (so i dont have to use my Williams in the rain and salt.
Im leaning towards a 19 16v but anything considered. A standard car would be better.
Body work is uniportant as i will be painting it a garish colour anyway.
The car must be mechanically sound in the engine and gearbox department.
Cash is waiting and im based in Norwich so the closer the better. Would travel if i felt it was worth it. |

Keep your eye out on ebay, theres one very nice looking PH1 chamade that keeps on being relisted. Its cropped up 1 or 2 times in the papers too EDP if I remember right @ £777 bit pricey but it looks unmolested. Also a pretty mint PH2 hatch recently went unsold on ebay from norwich, green seen it parked at work afew times looked stunning. |

If i was after a track car, it wouldnt be a 19, there just too heavy to start with in my opinion. Plus i would want a car with a bit more low down punch for drive out of corners. Having owned both i would either go for a 205GTI or 309GTI both of which absolutely fly from the get go. When i had the 309, i stripped out all the rear seats, carpet etc just to see what the difference in performance was and there definately was one. Saying that though, the 205 i had was absolutely standard and i would say it would have easily kept up with and out handled the 309. |

You dont need low down punch, just put it in the right gear! |
