So I went to one of the scrappies over in Watford this morning with Chris for more bits for project pratmobile. While I was there, I had the usual stroll around and saw this:
Its chamade, and looked in very good condition (apart from being sat on the floor with 2 cars stacked on top of it obviously ). Leather interior too. The bonnet on it was mint, no rust whatsoever. Had I got there half an hour earlier I would have had it, but as you can see, some nobber got there before me and was busy dropping the engine out of a shitty old escort onto it
Note the williams stickers on the sides, I did check and it was only a normal 1.8 |

well it kinda proves my point, if u paid £35 for an alt and thats with discount, goes to show how expensive first renault are for bits.
then of course your petrol on top to get there and back makes that an expensive 2nd hand alt |

Ok, fair enough, didn't realise the going price of alternators
Still becasue its an RSi, they were the only breakers i could find that had one in stock, and the only place i could find a new one was renault, GSf list them, but turns out they dont' actuyaly sell them |

cos GSF dont know their arse from their elbows.
Also, they are probably different current ratings, but they will all work |

that 19 looks very familiar and the number plate I have written on an old but of paper here for some reason
Anyway rsi alternator, same liek schakal said on 8V F type engines aside from the diesel.
Ratings differ.
Lag one is best as it normally has a higher rating. |

also 35 quids a lot of money considering you don't know if its gonna last for a month! A new one is about 70 quid after you chop in the old one. |
