Hiya guys
I have orderd a haynes manual but untill i can look at that was wondering
as i have both cars with intention fo droping hatch lump into chamde with blown engine, could i just drop the engine/box/driveshafts/hubs compleate and then with help of two jacks and ppl lift up directly into chamade?
I dont have a crain and dont fancy taking driveshafts out and renting a crane.any tips much appricated thanks Paul. |

yes you can drop the subframe complete and lift the other shell back onto it. Holes might be a pain to line up though |

it'll be easier to get hire a hoist, engine out and a new one in in just over an hour if you disconnect everything on it before you get the hoist, then its a slot out and slot in jobbie. |

the boxes are the same, but it is harder to get the engine out with out g/b at the same time, there is a drain plug at the bottom of the box, drain that into 2 2l bottles and then get a funnel with a hose pipe and put it back in. if you undo your struts at the hub(2 18mm bolts) and oull the hub out this will pull the shaft clear of the box to lift it out. |

a members project would be very helpfull indeed
also ,why not seperate the gearbox and stick a brand new renault clutch in there ,once you do it you wont have to worry about it for long time |

i doubt il be doing a report or replacing clutch, i bought this car coz it was suposed to be a bargain but now its turnd out to be an exspensive hassle, if i was making a turbo technics engine out of it or sumthing it would be worth while haivng new or uprated clutch and progress report but for what it is (a family car) il just slap it togther and drive it i got my haynes manual threw today so i will have a little look threw there;-)
The guy who is going to be helping me a bit has sugested cuting the front away of the donor car and just ripping it all out is that actualy any easier only thing i can think of is it would save having to lift the car over the engine? |
