i've read on another site that you can do the test using the push button on the end of the stalk if true any idea of what info it gives in order |

depends on your car.
Clio 16V then nothing.
19 16V, twist and hold the reset knob, press and hold the button on the stalk then turn on the ignition.
On the 19's/21's etc all it will do is scroll through everythign to show the screen works. |

cheers chris i'm changing the blub behind the led bit tomorrow the haynes manual says its 4 spanners experience so it must be really fiddley or is not that bad |

fiddly more than anything.
if you have a clio then its about 5 minutes (whole dash top comes off with 3 screws)! 19's an arse though. |

left hand on the reset button, right thumb on the stalk then flick the key over with fingers.
With the air pipe out the way access is better to both the clutch and speedo cable. |
