for work i drive a mercedes sprinter TD
and today i blew up the gearbox on it . . oopppss
did a delivery, pulled away in first, heard a big bang and could not get it to change out of first into second, could not get it out of first at all! the selector was jammed in !
managed to limp it to the commerical mercedes garage on Old Kent Road in South London in first gear for them to tell me it was fucked.
had to wait 4 hours for work to get another van out to me! |

so did they tell you that u have to use the clutch for gear changes or did you find out yourself after ???? |

yes i used the clutch, you soon know it on those things if u dont
and the newer ones come with a semi auto box, work is getting a brand new fleet of sprinters in december |

yep, no problems, they are all leased anyway
we get a whole new fleet of sprinters in december so i get a brand new one to drive around soon |

i drove a sprinter the other week...fast for a van, great fun to drive...we had ours well over 90mph....private test track of course...but it was a beast! |

aye true, rents have got a kia sedona people carrier and they've got sprinter engines and box's in 'em, pretty rapid once movin bags of torque in every gear aswell |
