 cutting out!! still doing it 7th/11/05

well another problem a few time this has happend wehn going down the gears approachinga junction i get into 1st then the cars just cuts out/stalls my foot is flat to floor on clutch!!!

so what could this be??

road speed sender.

does the trip comp work? Do you get average speed etc readings?

Err, bad spark I would assume. Happened on mine changed plugs and off we went again. I would imagine it could be any par of the ignition tho.

yea computer works get everything up mpg speed fule gallens ect it weird its just cuts out looses revs dies!!!! but not every time!! Exclamation

clean the idle control valve then see if that sorts it.

Also clean the throttle body

BTW I'm pretty sure Chris has done guides for both of those tings that are pretty helpfull. It's all in the tech articles.

carb cleaner, £3.50 from halfords.

idle control valve with wd40 (not an excessive amount though)
the throttle body with carb cleaner spray

I quite agree, Chris and others have done some great guides for maintenance and repairs that are pretty spot on...none of the haynus crap.

well i done it it wearnt very dirty but still nice and clean now but it started raining to throttle body clean will have to wait Mad

right after cleaning the censor it has not stopped it happening so doing throttle body and changing plugs tomora

ayee checking the plug wells would be a good idea for a start ,i have cleaned mine today it was full of oil and water from the vent

also check your gearbox to chassis earth strap ,just an idea that may cure the cutting problem

right all getting desperate now its still cutting out on me!!!!! when i slow down to approach a junction what can it be???

so far changed:
spark plugs
ht leads

cleaned throttle body and idel censor valve

so whats left to change???

i also noticed that engine runs a little rought too

any help will be welcome Surprised

could be lots of things, like a dodgy headgasket and so on.

the main ones for those symptom are ICV and road speed sensor tbh.

When you shove the car in nuetral do the revs go up?

ICV???? and i dont no weather rpm goes up ill check on my break time
