hiya guys i have my donor engine out of car and will be getting it put in the good car soon, the engine has done 80k;_) should i have a new cambelt put on it as it has to last me a year?
If so how much are they and can i get it done on my garage floor where the engine is sat or does it need to be done with timing light (excuse my poor knowledge on timing)
how big a job is it, and how much should i pay a mate to do it?
thanks Paul. |

camblet alone 15 quid.
cambelt kit, belt, tensioner and idler 70 ish quid.
Chances are a garage won't take the job on as they think its to hard cos they are stupid. |

lol is it advisable to fit all of the above when doing a cambelt then? was hoping i could just spend £20 on a belt and sort matey out a £10er for fitting it or sum smokes or sumthing dont fancy spending the price of a 2nd hand engine doing it thoe as so farr i have spent
£430 on a car that blew up 30 mins later
£50 on a tow
£132 on a donor car plus risking my licence to get it back lol
all starting to add up now for a car that ive now found out is worth about £400 lol
do the tensioners and idlers where out like the belt? |

yes they do, but if they are not loose or rough when you spin then just do the belt. |
