I recently changed the battery in my phase 2 16valve R19 and the orange LCD on the dash (which annoyingly has the petrol gauge on it) has since not worked. When you take the key out the ignition it immediately stats flashing and when you re-start the car, pushing the on board computer button on the wiper stalk just makes it stop flashing but give no meaningful readings, just random numbers???
Does anyone know how I reset it? I neednt have changed the battery in the first place it seems as it was the boot light draining it not a duff battery as a suspected!!!
Oh well, you live and learn! Thank =s in advance for your help

I have tried the trip knob too the left and it does not seem to be working I must have a duff one! Do you also push the knob in and right?
Wish I had never disconected the bloody battery now!

nope just twist it clockwise. There's a little arrow above it showing you if you look.
Pushing it in just resets the mechanical trip |

you are supposed to turn it to the right and its not actually a turn tbh ,2-3mm of movement and you will feel it clicks
alternatively ,ask someone that knows his left and right to carry this task |
