Mechanical cam followers in clio F7R engines. what are they?

I know as standard it runs hydraulic followers, but is there an advantage of having mechanical ones, how do they work, is much modification needed, are they noiser than hydraulic?

Cheers, Cool

I think they're generally used with cams of greater than 270 degree as the std items can pressurise with oil quickly enough beyond that duration.

it just means they are solid with shims, not self adjusting like hydraulics. they are lighter than hydraulics so can go higher rpm and withstand the greater cams.
