well my speedo cable has broken again on the way to work to day so i have decieded to just buy a brand new one costing £40
so how easy is it to fit a new one when do i need to take apart
im guessing the speedo clocks will need to come out how easy is it to access the cable under the dash and any help or pointers from people who have done this before would be very welcome
cheers brad |

oh dear ,it is not the easiest of the jobs mate.
the instrument panel comes of as you said but in your case it would be easier thinking that you will loosen the gearbox end before takin it out.
the most important thing to bare in mind is to clean the drive train nicely and making a note of the speedo cable route behind the dash ,the cable itself does not like being bent a lot !!!!!!
and if you check some members projects you will be able to find some halpfull piccys too |

allright whatever
you wil have a plastic sleeve with the new spedo cable mate, thats what secures the whole thing in the drive train .
that plastic sleeve covers that metal bit and slides into the drive train |
