If it needs MOT just prebook one with your local tester before you pick it up, that's what I did with the Clio when I fetched it back from Scotland.
All depends how far the car has to go, how bad the driveshaft is and how dangerously you like to live! |

about 130 miles away from me i am afraid .
if the car is driveable swap your insurance on to it and prebook an mot test as ben said . and drive back with 50 mph on the left lane. |
