 R19 16V HIGH IDLING

my r19 is idling at 2000 revs all the time? it normally idles at 1000 revs?
any ideas much appreciated

idle speed control valve stickin...air leak in the inlet manifold somewhere

Normal Idle is 950

PROBLEM SOLVED!!

the coolant temp sensor broken, stuck on -40

shes runnin fine now

where did you get a replacement from?

i need a new one and refuse to pay renault over £20 for one.

coolant temp senser is about 7 or 8 quid from gsf

i just rang and asked them...they usually ask what colour...mine was white...

for anyone else who might come along and read this... if you need a new coolant sensor, watch it if you go to your local motor facotrs, as their catalogue lists the wrong one. It looked ok, but the thread was too big when i came to fit it.
