 how to lock the crank

how can i do this so i can do up the crank nut on the pully??? any ideas please

theres a little hole on the bottom front of the crankcase just above the sump next to the gearbox. Take the plug out, put the engine to #1 TDC and shove an 8mm piece of bar or and allen key or something in there.

Or stick it in gear, shove a screwdriver in the disc vents to lock against the caliper for the drivers side cos you've got the wheel off. That's a bodge though and I'd never do anything like that Rolling Eyes Wink

Would using an impact wrench damage anything?

well done its chaps put screw driver in fly wheel locked it up that way have since drove approx 50 miles and the blot ent come loose and no more over heating for now but it will be going into garage to have belt aux belt changed and bolt loc-tited in

I tired doing that when i was taking the head off my donar engine, bent an 8mm thick screwdriver, so just used an impact wrench on it Very Happy
