Hi.

When my car is idling and I blip (Only gently depress it) the throttle to about half way the engine revs go up and then drop to about 400rpm and the engine almost stalls, also there is a strong noticebale smell of petrol.

Is this just the engine slightly flooding due to poor throttle control or something more serious, perhpas my s**tty lumpy idle (Compression Rings)

Does it do this when you depress the clutch comming up to junctions etc?

What car have you got, 1.4RT?

Mine's done this since I've had it and mine does what Lunner posted about too, I've decided to live with it until I get a new car.
