Hello,
What do you think of this - decided to cut my losses with the Clio and the Punto so I've just bought this yesterday. It's V Reg (2000?) 1.2 16v Punto Sporting with Abarth stuff on it (wheels, skirts, door sill thingies etc) . It feels faster than my Clio and the other Punto (something to do with torque?) like someone said further down it felt like it was going fast but it wasn't. Obviously my Punto not to same scale (as the audi!) like but you know what I mean!
FSH and she's on 52,000 Cool

So whats the score with running around in bangers when you can afford something, err, "decent"?

How much did it set you back?

Laughing
I thought I was being clever buying bangers Laughing getting a 'bargain'
I only passed my test back in July and only wanted a banger then - just in case I crashed or had a bump or something. I did scrape the rear quarter panel on my gate post getting onto the drive in the Clio and someone ran in the back of me Twisted Evil so hopefully , statistically speaking I shouldn't have any more Laughing
The woman I bought it off wanted $3,000 for it and she wouldn't bundge, but I ended up paying $2750 and she put $10 petrol in it for me Cool (My pound sign isn't working)

Never knew Wigan had a different currency to the rest of England, how long have they been using dollars? lol

Sorry lol, car looks cool, hope you have better luck with this one. Approaching major service though so start saving those pennies, don't want another cambelt incident on your hands Wink

red master is the main key so the 2 blue keys can be programmed to. It also `does a few other things with the managament.

if there is no red key knock 800 quid off the price as thats what it costs.

Thats also a main reason puntos are scrapped.

AFAIK the master key isn't as important as it used to be

I recall us having a bravo in that needed a new keyset and ECU because the master key was gone lol

to look at it hehe.Whats a major service entail then? Is that 'full service'? FIAT do a full service for $99 but doesn't involve changing the timing belt - just checking it.

Don't you like the colour Chris Question Laughing you need Cool when you look at it Laughing The red key doesn't come with Mk2 Puntos Smile so thats me safe. Got two blue keys one of them brand new looking never been used. Two alarm/immibiliser thingies too.

Oh and before you say RTFM for service guidlines the woman who sold it to me couldn't find it Twisted Evil so I looked on ebay and they sellling for $15 quid do went to FIAT and got a brand new one for $8.50 but it's on order don't get it til Monday.

Daft question - all the receipts for the services and/or work done are in a big envelope but she can't find the book with all the stamps in, does that matter when sell it on at a later date? Do I still technically have FSH?

What operating system are you using. If it's windows XP go to control panel then Regional and Language options. Make sure it's set to "English(UK)". If not change it. If it is click on Languages then Details and make sure the Keyboard is set to English(UK) as well.

Yeah, that was one of the first things I did Laughing

r.e the red punto, I took it to four garages/welding places and all of them said they had never welded a punto before because they've never had to. Very very rare apparently that red one of mine. Should sell it on ebay as a 'rare and unique' item Laughing Razz When they got under it they said 'f*cking hell theres no floor in this!" and called other folk over for a look at it. Hilarious Rolling Eyes
It's because some idiot has welded some plates in from the inside, left the rusting bits on the underside and moisture has got trapped in bewteen the two and made the bottom carry on corroding. I don't get why someone would do that? I'm no welder but even I would say that was wrong Question

You have no full service history if you don't have a service booked stamped at the correct intervals. You just have receipts for work done.

Are you sure? Everything googled says only mk1 puntos have the red key system? This page http://www.kelsey-forums.co.uk/cgi-bin/cmm/YaBB.pl?board=diag says just two blue keys?

Oh bollocks, she said she would post it to me when she finds it - if she forgets then I'll only have partial Rolling Eyes
