Just been to France for the weekend on a booze cruise with people from work, and thought I'd stick a few pics on here. Plenty of Renaults in france! Especially retro ones. Well, mostly knackered retro ones lol. Christ there are some sheds of cars there! I don't think most people care, as long as it'll move like! Well here are some retro renaults that I noticed. Not particularly exciting I know, but I know you all like pics .....
Bit of a shed eh! I did wait for a bit to see if that guy would move, but he seemed to like standing there and I hate takin pics of things like that lol, like he probably thought I was taking a sly one of him! Doh
Spotted a 3dr non-16v hatch. I'm probably wrong, but I thought they were quite rare. Over here anyway. I've never seen many around here, ph1 or ph2. Well I saw that one above, and then spotted another one, so they can't be too rare in france!.....
I thought it was a ph1 from that view, but then when I got round the front, it had a ph2 front end. And cuz I can't tell how old it is fron the french plates, I got no idea what it was!
Oh wait, it's got a swoopy dash, which means it's a ph2 right? Cuz that ph1 I saw had the normal 'blocky' dash. Like the bonnet lol. The french seem to like multi-coloured cars. Especially the owner of this golf!.......
A lot of the cars I saw were 'bodges' like that. The boy racers are just in a league of their own lol. They'll buy a body kit, not bother to paint it, they'll have odd coloured doors & bonnets etc like that golf.....some windows will be tinted silver, some blue, some black........some spoiler made out of a plank of wood, and a 3ft exhaust etc! Sooo stupid! They like their car 'graphics' over there too. Lots of flames etc going up the side of things. Didn't get a chance to take a pic of any tho Got an example of a sort of 'bodge' tho.......
Umm......oh dear! It even had a small sticker on one of the windows saying "moddin is not a crime" (strange why that was in english), and if I'd have known that, I'd have made one saying "yes it bloody is when you do it like this!!" before I went over!
Well pretty much every other car in france was a 19. They're bloody everywhere. Not a single 16v tho doh. Ah well. Saw this ph1 chammy non-16v in the carpark of one of the supermarket places.......
Saw this in the carpark too......
Renault 11 TXE. There were loads of these about aswell. Lots of safrane's about too. Didn't get any pics of those tho.
Hey schaks, thought you'd like this one.........
You probably can't see from the pic, but the badge says "Renault 9 GTI" lol. Doesn't really look like a "GTI" does it! Ah well.
Saw this R5 GT Turbo which I thought was quite cool.......
Saw this on the way home from out drinking one night.......
Didn't have any badges on the back so I don't really know what Renault it is, but I saw this the next morning in one of the supermarket carparks and it looks basically the same shape........
And that's a Renault 4. Neal posted a pic of a better one up a while ago. It was red I think, and not as much of a shed as this one! But I think they look SO french for some reason!
Well that's about it I think. Oh, I did spot this in a petrol station near Calais just before we got on the ferry.......
An R19 Chamade diesel VTS apparently! Lol. Ah well, hope those pice weren't too boring! That's if they've all loadet yet and you can actually see 'em! |

Saw loads of 19's when I was in france. Even though mines a bit of a tip it was still in better state than most of what I saw.
Prices of second hand cars in france are ridiculous, so they just keep them till they write em off. |

Thats the thing with France, you are not allowd to modify the car performance wise, you have to stick with the orignal spec for the engine, fuel and exhaust systems, no performance mods what so ever are permissable by law.
So thats why french modders go over the top with the look of the car, its all they are allowd to do basicly, they can change wheels, suspension and brakes, put bodykits on and spray them in wild designs, just not allowd to make them go any faster heh.
and damn you, wish i had known you was going over to france, there is a couple of parts i wanted from french renault dealers that they dont sell over here for my 19's |
