Right, the new subframe for the hatch is galvanised so it shouldn’t rust anyway, but who reckons I should paint it or use it bare? If paint it, what colour? |

wellif you want it to look mint stock then black, hammerite, a good few coats of it.
i wouldn't just leave it as is, it WILL rust, stone chips will get it rusting.
So paint it anyway, either black or yellow I reckon. |

Painted mine before it went in.
Used Farm Tractor paint, grey primer followed by a nice thick coat of Ford Tractor Grey. This stuff is bomb proof when cured fully. |

yep, that's true thinking about it, might look quite smart.
Only for a while though, till it gets coated with crap, then it would look shite. Dont really want to do it black, as the rest of the car is black... it would look like the black hole of calcutta down there.
"Black, black, BLACK! Where shall we sleep tonight mother, in father's grave?"
<ahem>
Winston did his blue on his black clio, looks quite smart. Also I think I'm going to have a blue engine block, so that might work well? |

Made by a company called Spencer Coatings in Aberdeen Tel: 01224 788400. If you give them a call i'm sure they will give you a supplier near you. |
