Hi guys' i have a problem with my 19. I've just had new front bearings,driveshafts, wishbones,disc's and toyo's,then got alliment done,but when i drive and acselerate or brake or take my foot of the gas the stearing wheel and the front of the car goes all over the place. when i turn corners it feels as if 1 wheel goes 1 way and the 2nd the other way. A friend jumped in to drive so i could look at the front and whilst braking i noticed the wheels sort of jump violently which in turn throws the stearing all over the place,has anyone got any ideas? i dont what to take it back to the garage i dont trust the b******

it could be anything, knackered rack, track rod inner balljoints, lower balljoint, wishbones, cracked subframe etc etc.

where are you based as theresd people on here who would take a look for you.

Thanks criss, i think ive sussed out what is wrong.... Sad when the garage cut the old lower arms of they must have forgoten to put spacers back on. any idea what size the spacers are on the lower arms and where do they fit? a diagram would be cool if anyone can draw one
Where can i get the spacers?

there are no spacers fitted anywhere in the front suspension.

sorry cris i beg to difer
check the lower arm fixings x2 and tell me what is inbetween the bush and the subframe. cause ive got at least 1/4 inch of play and their new arms. and those nuts wont pull the frame in

Are you sure they've put the the bushes back in?

There may be different wishbones? Im not sure on that part!

thats why im asking, i need to know what is needed to connect the wishbone to the subframe,and what size washers/spacers go where to stop any front/back movement of the lower arm bushes Very Happy Grrrrr Twisted Evil men

lol, i'd trust chris, if anyines going to know if there was/is meant to be a spacer there he'd know! That must be quite intresting to drive like that lol.

fun to drive Laughing the closest thing to describing the drive is to be wearing an oversized pair of incontinance pants full to the hilt, bursting at the seams ,travelling at 30mph and taking a 90 deg bend across the dance floor to the toilets Very Happy

there is no washers or spacers anywhere in the front suspension system.

Wishbone goes into subframe, 2 bolts are used with no washes and on the rear one a single 18mm nylock nut is used and on the frotn one a plaine nut is on then the stay from the bolt to the inner wing then the nylock nut.

There are no washes etc or any other crap there.

Only way for this to happen is if someone has forcefully opened up the brackets where the arm goes into or the wishbones are wrong/have the wrong bushes in them.

heres some pics from one of the probably at least 150 wishbone changes I have done

west sussex. Had a look at the lower arms and gave them a little tighten but still got the same symptoms....noticed white plasticy bit in criss's pics on the end of the arm??????should i have some toooooooooooo?

Umm, the only people who are near you are Touring and astrojon, But touring is defeated by a starter motor, and jon well he's just defeated by the car itself lol!

the white plastic bit itsn't improtant, most are missing them now, it just stops the lower balljoint rubber catching on the cast iron hub.

tbh sound sliek the frames bent. get the measurign tape out and compare them side to side etc.

I have a subframe out the back I can measure from for you.

sorry chaps for takin so long in replying, i found out what the problem was.....the garage didnt tighten the 2 bolts that hold the swively thing onto the lower arm ...so ive tightend them myself to about 60lb/.....with the car of the ground.......looks like another trip to get trakin done........bummer Crying or Very sad
