Pricing stuff up for the Bendix ABS system out of curiosity more than anything.
wheel sensors
77 00 794 542 SENSOR RHR 91.52 ---3 x 1
77 00 794 541 LOOM ABS R19 72.97 ---3 x 1
77 00 796 159 SENSOR ABS 91.52 ---3 x 1
77 00 796 159 SENSOR ABS 91.52 ---3 x 1
main loom which the sensors and comp plug into
77 01 040 568 PLATE+LOOM ABS 771.12 ---3 x 1
pump and accumulator
77 00 802 129 ELEC PUMP ABS R19 711.95 ---3 x 1
the master cyl isn't in the price list neither is the ECU.
By my reckoning the total cost to replace the ABS system runs at least 2 grand!
Expensive.
All I need - I think to sort my hatches ABS is a rear disc and a front n/s sensor and ABS hub.
I have the new discs which have the teeth on them.
So that leaves a front hub and sensor, u33db is swapping me an ABS hub at the weekend, so all I need now is a sensor.
Anyone got one they are willing to GIVE away? |

Has u33db actually managed to remove the sensor from the hub??? Quite a feat if so, unless he drilled it out or destroyed in in some other way. |

nah he got the hub mins sensor from u33db
if the hub still had the sensor I would be laughing.
its just I only had a non ABS hub to slap on it so I did. But u33db has one which I saw on f7power, I said I'll wap and he will.
I just wanna see if I can get the light out! lol
Dan I just need a sensor and before ireland as it shoudl all be getting ripped out before then. I don;t have any gear needed as neal got my master cyl.
i am just curious to drive one with workign bendix ABS! |

Mine was nice actually, hardly every cut in, if anything it was better than the 172's brakes! |

who me? Neal?
if your not using it then aye, did you look to see if it had the white plastic bit on it? I don't have it here.
Its a lot of extra weight Dan, it really is.
i don't think I have even been in a car with working ABS even as a passenger.
been in plenty with the light on and then lost all brakes etc though! |

the 172 is so hairy under hard braking its all over the shop, even the painted lined on the road will throw if off course, under hard braking because some twat has pulled out infront of me ive been going into opposite lock! ive been told to fit a strut brace as this will stop it?
I really hate the ABS on my 172, cuts in far too early, coming onto my drive, it'll cut in and if anything actually makwe the stopping distance longer, but i dont want to pull the fuse on it, as i know the day i do that i'll skid straight into someone or something! |

how can fitting a strut brace stop it? Thats pretty daft as far as suggestions go!
The cups, they have no ABS but they don't have the arm on the bias valve! Thus they are all failign their 1st mot's! lol
Stupid renault.
Neal like I said you find some new ren plain discs and I'll swap ye!
I have never liked ABS but I can see it helping with the famour renault lhd front lock up wheel! |

the cups DO ghave the bias valve, its just not connected to the rear axle!
So in effect theres little/no rear braking.
Its a proper fuck up by renault. |

hmmmmm ABS could be a good thing . .
i just locked up the 19 for about 100 yds hehe
my mate behind said the smoke was coming in thru his air vents and it looked like a fog bank.
(i was racing a bmw at the time on a private test track, got in front of him and had to lock on because of a sudden apearance of a ummm blue and white chequered car in front with funny lights on it, but they did not notice the fog bank i left behind me) |
