(to the tune of the bloke selling lighters 12 for £1 at the corner of my work in York)
Bloody hell R19 16v's are going cheap atm...
Which only means people are going to buy them and they are going to be used, abused then thrown away.
When do you recon we're going to (if ever?) see the price of them go up - and what do you think is the reasoning for them being so cheap (unreliable?). Or is it just a winter thing?
I can remember people asking, and getting, £2000 + for them when I had my 1.4 and now they are just silly cheap.
I suppose now is the time to get one cheap and being less of them on the road can only be a good thing for enthusiasts? |

even some diesels are just as quick as the 19's now.10 years ago the clio or 19 would have seemed alot quicker compared to a lot of cars that where about at the time.ill still not be selling mine for years anyway. |

My 172 still isnt as fun to drive as my valver was, but ive never known such a torquey car, and i never got past 110 in my valver, but ive cracked the 140mark in the 172, if the valver still had it's 1st engine im sure it would pull as fast, if not faster than the 172. |

Noone wants them because they are group 15 insurance when you can get faster things in a lower group.
Because they tend to be ragged and abused, they break.
Because they break they have a reputation for being unreliable.
Because they have a reputation for being unreliable, they are cheap.
Because they are cheap, neds buy them, rag them and neglect them.
Because neds buy them rag them and neglect them, they break.
Because they break, they get more of a reputation for being unreliable.
And so on
See the pattern?
Yes, there are loads about, but because of the fuckwitt factor, finding a diamond in the rough is becoming harder and harder. |
