Hiya guys

i have just had another engine fitted to my r19 chamde as last one blew up, everything works and it drives fine but, when i go to start the engine it makes the horible noise like a dry screeching guna explode noise.

It does start straight away but this noise is realy bad, i have the alternator and starter from other car, will the starter noise go away with usign the car or will i need to get other one fitted?

will this damage my engine driving and starting it like this?

Many thanks Paul.

it'll be a dry bearign in the starter, caused by clutch dust, they tend to stick after a while as well.

The other starter assuming it was fine before will be fine in this one and the noise should go.

will the dust go on the dry starter after a while, and will it damage anything as im due to sell this car to my brother for -£300 profit lol dont want it breaking on him thoe.

I realy cant be botherd with the car anymore and just want it rid of it, it sounds like its realy wrong when i go to start it.

If i was to drive it around would this free it up would it only get freed up by keep starting it?

how hard a job is it to vhange starter motor when in car?

thanks Paul.

starter removal is easy unless your touring, hour tops.

But no amoutn of driving or anythign else will cure it.

repeated starts might solve it at the expense of its ultimate life.

the dusat drys the bushes and bearing out a 5 min clean and light oil will sort it when you get the starter out.

sounds like what mine is doing.

Like Chris said, take it off and give it a clean.

I'll be doing mine at the weekend. I'll put some pics up after if you'd like. Wink
