Starter Motor Dead - I've a few questions relating to getting a new one:
1) Are the starter motors different for each engine - mines a ph2 1.8RT (F3P I believe) i.e. will any old starter motor off a 19 do?
2) Will be phoning around for prices 2morrow morning - what should I expect to pay new/secondhand?
3) Any tips on fitting it - seems reasonably straight forward according to HBOL (Haynes Book of Lies!)
Cheers for your help, Mark |

1) Yep
2) dunno but I have a few here which I can sell you
3) Its not bad, i will fit it for 15quid, but if you want to do it yourself you need 16mm spanner/socket, 14mm spanner and a 13mm spannet. The exhaust gets in the way but its not to bad. If the heatshileds are still there then a 10mm for them if you can't fight around them. |
