...last job before MOT retest , and as you can see from the pic I have got the new link on but can't get enough thread through to get the nut on (which would need to go on after the bit I'm holding!!). I've tried everything I can think of...jacking the roll bar up to meet the lower arm (as in the pic, seems to be the best idea yet), trying to do it with the car on ground, with the arm jacked up, bashing it with a hammer, etc.
Any ideas? |

Cheers...man that was a bitch! even with a G clamp on max I still needed molegrips wedging the nut onto the end of the thread, while simultaneously reaching up and trying to tighten the bolt. Should have taken a comedy pic but wanted the f***er done by then. |

Did mine with a g-clamp, don't think i'm gonna get another clio.
Too many simple jobs turned nightmare down to poor design.
I'm sure straight from the factory they were great cars, but they become tired fast and they werent designed with the mechanics interests in mind. |

at least an oil change on my energy takes all of 2 minutes, about the only job that doesnt involve shredding your hands to pieces !! |
