The PAS on my Clio 16v is making a bitch of a noise. When you turn it, it makes a really loud howling sound. If you do it gently and listen closely you can hear what almost sounds like air being let off when you turn it. I've also noticed the sound of like trickling water also coming from the PAS resv/pump area.
How hard is it to change the fluid? Or how hard to get out an air lock if that's what's causing it? Also if i got Halfiords and buy some fluid, what shall i get, is it ok to mix fluids?
Cheers. |

Ah cheers pal.
Here are some pics of the resviour:
The fluid is a red colour, but I dunno if the level is high enough. Also there was PAS fluid on and around the resvouir. |

I use Slick 50 in mine and it quietened it down loads.
All of the Clio 16vs/Williams leak fluid from the top of the cap through the bleed hole. I rigged up some tubing that runs from the top of the cap to a bottle with a bleed hole under the scuttle panel, no more mess now.
Tightening up the belt will also quieten it down. You can bleed the system by turning from lock to lock whith the engine running, but it should bleed itself when you drive it. You can't really drain the system very easily unfortunately. |
