lol
just got an email off the guy
"I'll answer what I can for now, but will have to check the other items tomorrow as the car's at my workshop.
Firstly, there is a small bubbling of rust on the offside rear wheel arch about the size of a 50p piece. The sills look all fine. Pod guages - oil level works, oil temp works but oil pressure appears not to wor. The heater works fine. There's no tapping from the engine. 7 previous owners as per listing. The guy's actually my old next door neighbours son and we work on all their cars at our garage. There's no particular reason he's selling and no unresolved problems - just grown up a bit and wants something more sensible"
typical really, every other clio ive seen the oil pressure gauge works, now its the only one that dont.
ebay shold remove the 1000 charator limit on quetsion tho! can never ask enough.
ill ring instead. |

went to have a look.
not bad cond,
nothing seriouslly unroadworthy.
fualts = well no t+t bt not really a fault
leaky sunroof thats sticks. goes up but wont go abck, fuel warning light always on, despite having just under a quater tank of fuel.
heater fans didnt work on any settings, central locking didnt work on the blipper
outside temp gauge didnt work..as per usual
rad fan didnt kick in, and started to steam a tad. hopefully nothing to worry about.
rusty arches. sills were ok tho.
how ever since 04 it has only coverd 2k miles.
and it sounded..well just fucking brilliant really, loved the noise.
so, if it stays withinmy price and i hope to god it dose.
its mine.
hurray!
quite a bit diffrent going from a 1.4 to a 1.8 16v, nice sinky back seat feeling. |

this is due to the daft aux tank design, sunroof would probably move if you banged it, they stick but once moved a few times tend to sort themselves

common prob, either rheostat or the motor or the panel, swap with your 1.4's. the plip batteries may be dodgy, the wrong plip or the sensor is loose

well as you said

how hot did it get? The rads on cars that have s at tend to steam for a bit as condensation gets stuck deep in the fins.
