Yet another problem. When i bought it i forgot to check that the horn worked, and it doesnt! No problem i thought, just buy a new one, job done. Well looked at the old ones (dual tone) and they were totally fucked. So off to GSF and bought new ones. off to my local electric shop to get some bullet connectors etc, then on with the new horns. No worky!
I'm now in 3rd year at uni doing Automotive Engineering....so i have a fair idea at how to fix things on cars....however this is due to my own experience rather than the bollux they teach at uni! Never seen anything further from automotive engineering in my life!!!! (rant over!)
so with the little bit of electrics knowledge i have i started to trace the wire from the horn, and its fine until just at the relay box in the engine bay. at this point it has been cut! but i cant find the other end!!!!
looking at the haynes wiring diagram, the horn is a positive feed, negative earthed device (as im sure most of you guys know) and it dosent go into any relays or that...just through a fuse in the engine bay cowl!
im totally lost...cant find the wire...and when i try using a trickle battery charger (12v) to power it to test its working the horn only gives off a very faint noise....not drawing any amps thru.....
any suggestions.....its pissing me off! im thinking maybee a dash off job...and rewire the whole fucking thing!!! |
