on top gear you notice at 80mph it was using 50 horses, that shows its not the most aerodynamic of cars.

I think its a lovely car though.

AFAIK once you get above 200mph tyres are the limiting factor in top speed

As for the viper, it might be faster than the rest but at least the others will go around corners...

theres tyres out there that will tolerate upwards of 250mph, some will go to 300.

2.9 seconds to 60 from the viper isn't that unrealistic, look at the supras that can do it.

Well, for starters the Bugatti as more hp (+1) !!!
Then there is the issue of a modified car vs. a car designed for the task, the Bugatti has the edge here.

The Bugatti has a limited top speed (well so we are told), if it has then is must be limited for reasons other than not having the hp.

For example:
Already beaten the top speed and performance records for a production car by significant margins.
I'm guessing probably another £1/2M?? or so in research (per car) needed to make it safely go faster.
Factor in the Law of diminishing returns - What's the point?

It makes more business sense to stop at 253 mph, than to continue pushing for more, as they have already made their mark.

Yeah as said before it may be the fasted (limited) and the cheapest but it is definately also the first to be written off and is always going to be the first to slow down. The others are basically just dumbed down race cars, and technological masterpieces. The viper's a sports/supercar with an overpowered engine Razz I hate it when yanks do that.
(in texan accent) 'Ain't No Replacement for Displacement Boys!'

yeah.. except a good chassis and balance that can handle it
