If this goes for this price, it's bargain of the century surely! I'm sure I've heard people saying that the clio 172 and 182 engine's are very similar to the 19's engine, so they are easy (or at least easier than any other engine) to fit into one. But I can't imagine it going anywhere near straight in........ur gonna have to change loadsa things surely? Exhaust probably won't fit, dunno how the hell you get driveshafts & all to line up etc.....but then I don't really know a lot about this sorta thing.
Would anyone say that a 182 engine into a 19 would be a worthwhile project? Or just rediculously too expensive and a bit pointless? I'm not actually thinking of doing it because I just don't have the knowledge to do it myself, I'd have to pay for a garage to do it.....which probably would be pointless! Was just curious that's all[/url] |

Its been done before, and was discussed possibly on here. It will fit but you have to cut some of the bonnet support out (or was that on a MK1 Clio? I forget)
If your struggling with rear discs/bearings I'd leave an engine conversion well alone (if only Gentle Ben would do the same ) |

He already said he was only asking out of interest!
It would go in the 19 fine, and you wouldn't need to cut anything away, as you'd need aftermarket management so you'd use throttle bodies anyway, doing away with the plenum on top. |

By the looks of it tho Addie, putting a 182 engine into my 19 would be easier than changing my rear discs!
But yeah, like Neal said I was only asking out of interest. I mean, if it stays at £122 that is such a bargain........ It'd be rude not to buy it really! |
