I started up my Ph1 16v today having not driven her for nearly a week.
Shortly after I had started her up but while I was still stationary there was a pretty loud clunk from underneath the car - sounded like it was coming from underneath the middle or underneath the gearbox.
I then had to reverse slightly to get out of my space and heard the same noise again come from the front on the driver's side - sounded like it could have been the front wheel.
Anyway once we were moving there were no problems or any more noises.
Can anyone shed some light on what this was or could be?
Bearing in mind the car hadn't been driven for nearly a week.
Cheers |

Brakepads which had rusted to your discs, I always have it when the car has stood still for a while, I get it quicker in winter with a lot of salt on the roads .... obviously offcourse |
