I have just started up my 1992 K plate and the ABS light has not extinguished. I replaced the rear discs about 2 months ago and the fronts were also changed about 1 year ago.
Is it a tricky repair or are there any "easy fixs" or things to take a look at first that may have caused it? I assume its still ok to drive, it means I just havent got ABS at the moment?
Thanks in Advance

1992 could be either Bendix ABS or bosch. If its bendix, good luck, as the brakes WILL NOT WORK. And there is no way of repairing it, just removing it. |

Way to tellk is look down the passenger side of the engine bay, if you see a ball like object, then its bendix. |

Thankfully I have driven it since and there are no braking issues so I can only assume that its a bosche, phew by the sounds of it!!!
If it si a wheel sensor then is it a fairly easy repair job and is there away of narrowing down which wheel it might be?? |

Yeah, in some cases Bendix will continue working in non-ABS mode, it's just that in some cases you lose all braking when it goes. Just depends what the exact fault with the unit is I guess.
Autodata has an excellent section dedicated to troubleshooting the ABS, including how to get it to display error codes. Might be worth looking at. |

have a go at cleaning the sensors up first then see. its usually the passenger side front thats the problem (its the one that gets all the crap off the road) |
