Dunno if this has been asked before on here, but I have been asked a lot recently why I actually chose to buy my car......and my answer is that I can't really think of any other car for the same sorta price as a 19 that is as good looking, as quick, as fun to drive, as good handling, as well equipt (leather, electric windows & sunroof, etc...), and that you can actually insure when you're as young as 23. I just really can't think of any other car that could be considered an alternative to the 19. And the sad thing is, when this 19 comes to the end of it's life, I'll probably get another one rather than looking for a different car lol. But then when the time comes I might've changed my mind, who knows.
What other cars are the same sorta price & performance etc as a 19 these days? Cuz I am stuck to think of any! What would you lot have if the 19 wasn't around? |

I'd have a Tipo 16v, no question. I still might get one as well as my 19 at some point. |

Okay lol. Am I gonna get told off for posting the scans in here? Isn't there a scans section now or something? I've lost track since the site changed a bit over xmas!
Or shall I just bang 'em in here? |

Had one before the cabby! 3 door 2.0 16v, on an M plate.... sounded awesome and was pretty quick, but nothing stunning. Handled like it was on rails! had it sprayed in the alfa flip colour, with black alloys.... |

A mate of mine used to have one yeah, and they sound absolutely beautiful. Think he had a peco exhaust on it or something. The actual car itself was a bit crap lol, bit of a shed......but damn it sounded nice |

Dont get too carried away with the beautiful looking car comments.... some angles fair play, generally nah.... come standard with plastic bumpers, not a bit of colour coding in sight, not even on the sideskirt or bumpstrips, interiors are well built (by italian standards) but horrible colours and fabrics (apart from the optional recaros)
On the plus side, nobody knows what the hell it is, and the gearbox is one of the most direct feeling ive ever driven. Plagued with suspension probs, especially worn racks and top mounts which cause very annoying clunking everytime you touch the wheel. |

Sounds familiar, but i dont know if clunking is preferable to creaking and cracking. |

I've spent 5 years trying to get a different car.
Still own a Renault 19 16v and when it goes on Friday, I'll have another no questions asked.
Worked - I had a Seat Cordoba for a year - although in that time I 'borrowed' a valver for about a month when Huw bought one near to me on eBay and said I could use it for a bit |
