Hi all,
I'm gonna drop the oil out of the box on this megane, it's done 80k on the original stuff and I reckon that's enough!
Now, the handbook calls for Tranself TRJ 75w80 with and API GL5 spec. I have a gallon of 'Maxol' gear oil here with just EP80 written on it. Any ideas if it'll do?
I read that the API rating refers more to seal compatibility rather than the actual lubricating properties of the oil. I'll probably have to find a number for the manufacturers and ask them what API spec it is but if anyone has any thoughts..... |
