Hi all!

Im about to do a low cost turbo conversion of my megane. And i need tips!!

< Engine K7M 1.6e >

Im thinking of charging about max 0.3-0.4Bar (mayby more with Ethanol).
this is because im not interested in opening the enging and lower the compression.

factory default is: 9.7:1

I got the tip to change the injectors instead of gaining the fuelpreassure.
To spare the fuelpump, does anyone knows how much preassure the original fuelpump can handle?

And concerning the injectors: Does any one knows what engine that got injectors that delivers about 30% more fuel than the original injectors of K7M? 1.6 litre (90Bhp).

Since its illegal to put on a turbo in a car in sweden im thinking of building a pipe with the turbo on,
so it's easy to switch to a usual pipe.
to hide the tuning Wink
(we're only allowed to gain power with about 10%)...0.1bar Twisted Evil

Does anyone got more tips for me?

Do i need a blowoff valve to spare the throttle?
Or is only a wastegate enough?

im also thinking of building a circuit that gives fuel for 0.5-1 sec. when reaching the revlimiter at 6500rpm. to avoid engine detonation.

Sorry for my English, but i hope someone can help me.

And remember, it's going to be a low budget tuning, with parts from a local renault junkyard Smile

So any tips of turbos etc. is welcome. ex. kangoo TD or simular.

kindly regards
Fredrik / Sweden / Lund

I guess you could build a detachable turbo given the meganes downpipe arrangement and theres plenty of room in the front.

Turbo oilfeed could be taken from the oil pressure light sender in the front of the block and a return put into the sump quite easily.

I had considered doing it on my 1.4 19 for a laugh before but wasn't bothered in the end.

For fuelling i'd suggest something a little more accurate than upping the fuel pressure!

Very interested in this project!

hello again,
concerning the oil feed. i was thinking of this adaptor that you put between you oilfilter and the engine block,
when you are using a oil cooler, opel calibra and some vw golf among others, uses this solution.

but im not sure if i will get the correct preasure here?

If the preasure is ok, i could use two oil-coolers, one before and one after the turbo. To make sure i got a low oil temp Wink

It's still going to take a couple of months before i start the build,
(im trying to collect data before so i can do the build without any suprises). Surprised

Yeah i know the adapter you're taking about, i'm using one on my F7R turbo. I don't think 2 coolers is either necessary nor a good idea!

ive found a guy in denmark who put a mercedes supercharger/kompressor on his megane 1.6.

it has about 0.3 bar in preassure and about 115bhp.

but that is enough for me, then i know it works Smile

95 hp and 145 Nm torque at 2750 RPM +aprox 30% => 117hp & 188Nm Laughing
