Similar story to King Strombo in that just replaced my tappets with fresh new ones with cam belt etc.. now when the engine gets hot the oil light flickers and the needle only comes up to 1/4 . when you rev it the oil pressure goes up and the light goes out. It doesnt sound like main bearings have gone, it runs really smooth with no rattles etc. the thing that i cant understand is that the coolent light comes on aswell which makes me wonder could it just be the french wiring? any ideas would be appreciated thanks (F7P in 19 16v ph1) |

have you checked your oil level? maybe theres not enough, what oil are you using? could be a dodgy sender, does it overheat? |

i found the prob now thanks. eventually got the sump off after fighting with chewed up torx bolts, oil pump was fine so i removed the bearing caps and thats were the probs start! i never seen bearings this bad! trouble is its been ground before and the big end bearings are 1.00 size so i dont think it can be done again! anyone got a spare engine? |
