Chrome plating I assume you are referring to...best way is some form of dipping in an acid based solution...ask at a chrome platers as they should have these chemicals...not something you can buy at home.
Or if it is in a bad state, then you may be able to sand it off. |

tried sanding it, you cant scratch it with a screwdriver either, in exposed alloyarea you can scratch the alloy but not the chrome you cant sand it off me and ben tried from 10 till12 last night |

beware the shot blasting will make the aluminium pitted and rough...better off getting it dipped like i said. |
