Hi,
I'm currently rebuilding my F7P engine and am turbo-ing it. I'm not after super gains, i'll be running a T25 and only want gains of 190-200bhp. Thats good enuf for me. My question is... can i use my standard pistons rather than uprating to forged ones?
another silly Qn..if i change to forged low comp pistons, would i also need to uprate the conrods aswell?
cheers |

You can get around 190bhp on standard internals just fine. You may need to drop the CR slightly (thicker headgasket) but if your fuelling is spot on and chrage temps are kept nice and low it would be ok.
The only off the shelf piston you can get drop the CR to 9:1 or 7.5:1, if you decided to go for pistons don't even consider the 7.5:1 ones as they will give horrible off boost response. They can be used with standard rods |
