Just bought a couple of electric wing mirrors from Ebay. Came off a 19 Baccara so hopefully should fit the 16V ok.
I think all the wiring is in place and guess the switch will fit behind the gear leaver.
There are red and white plugs cliped up inside the center console and plugs in the doors.
Need to get the things painted before fitting but need to checkout the wiring first. |

Its never had them.
Must be one of the first Ph 2's.
Any chance of a pic of the switch as I can't see a knock out or something.
May be able to get the door pocket off the Baccara 19 the mirror's came off but need to know what to get.
Thought the bloody switch was in the center near the gear lever.
I"ll stick it in somewhere. |

ph1's all had them!
if you look int he door pocket you see a slot near the front, a bit of plastic slides in there that houses the switch. |

OK you end up with a switch on each side.
See the grooves now.
On the Clio Baccara it was a small nob like a joystick that you rotated to the side you want to ajust.
Same on the Pug 206.
Like playing with that so I will try to get one and wire the thing up, if the mirrors work that is.
Owe you one again.
Thanks |

no theres only 1 switch on the drivers side, the door pockets have the slots on both sides for rhd/lhd
and yes its a twist knob thing the same as the clio. |

Right, got the things yesterday.
Of coarse when I finally get around to looking inside the door no wiring.
Next move is to see if its wired into the main loom upto the door plugs.
I've got the switch as well, so I would like to fit it on the back of the center consol behind the gear stick if no original wiring is in place.
As for paint. I want a change and as flags went down like a brick its going to be metal flake black with a clear coat.
Thinking about doing some silver pin striping.
Anyway I still have the originals. |

even the base 1.4's had the wiring in the dash for the mirrors.
I have never seen a 19 with door speakers and central locking without the leccy mirror part in it though and I have seen a few in my time. |

This is a 16V with Air Con.
In france even the alloy wheels were an option.
I think the rally low weight aspect counted.

Any chance of a pic of the back of the switch.
Sorted the mirror wiring but the switch is a bit of a nightmare.
Easy thing to do would be to find a door loom with the mirrors wired, but I have decided to wire the thing myself.
Have a wiring diagram for the switch so if someone could get a pic of the back of the plug to get the colors of the wires.
Second option? If someone has the door looms to sell. But I still need to check if its wired up to the door plugs. |

it will be wired to the doors, the plugs is a 6 or 9 pin job.
Wires in the door loom and main loom are different btw.
I dont have any door looms but someone on here must have some! |

It all goes on in the (Europe) left hand door.
Only three wires cross the car for the mirrors. Not counting the heaters and the outside temp sender.
I took the switch to bits but its very hard to sort.
A photo of the back of the switch with it plugged in would be cool. |

yes I have the switch.
I got back to the guy on Ebay and he threw the switch in with the mirrors.
What I don't have is the plug that goes in the back.
Small crimp on speaker connectors will fit the pins, so I can make up a plug from epoxy.
Problem is finding out what pins to use. I"ve nearly got it. but sorting the + - and motor return pins is a bit tricky.
I'll set it all up on the bench first to get the motors running in the right direction, then mark it all and make up the cable runs plugs and all.
I do like to figure out how it all works. The switch is realy cool, its reversing polarity to get the motors to run both ways. But its mecanical so its easy to understand not like all the electronic kit.
Reminds me of the two way switch - ==== - |

Got them on.
Pulled the looms out of the doors after eyeballing length.
Got some sticky cable numbers from work, set up the mirrors and switch on the bench using a 12V battery and a 1 amp fuse in case of errors.
Number'd every thing.
Taped it all up into the looms.
Cut the wires going ito the door plugs and hooked it all up on the side of the plugs with covered spade terminals.
Even got the demister heaters working.
Painted the mirrors black. The Pug 206 S16 has black mirrors so I guess thats where that came from.
Shit now I'm trying to make my R19 16S look like my Peugeot 206 S16.
