I haven't been a renault owner for long but i've just bought a clio rsi , which i was happy with untill the teeth off the adjuster rachet wore off, so i bought a new pedal assembly and fitted it. a week later it broke agen and it had worn the teeth off in exactly the same place.
I dont wanna buy another pedal assembly every week is there any thing else i can change?
any help much appreciated |

clutch cable. these are badly routed on rhd cars, make sure it srouted properly and no tight turns.
Also the clutch may just be nearing the end of its usefull life. |

Either the clutch is gone and is therefore too heavy or the cable is routed wrongly. Change those. |

My old R19 TD used to go through cables & adjusters even after the clutch itself was changed, turned out the fly wheel was knackered! |

has anyone ever tried to do away with the adjuster rachet and just make a normal pedal. and adjust the cable using spacers. |

Yeah, change the clutch cable making sure it's routed correctly through the engine bay.
I've just had a nightmare time with my Clio 16v's clutch cable, it's snapped twice in as many months wearing the ratchet out.
If the cable is routed properly and set up with the correct amount of adjustment and play at the box end then it will be fine. |
