So which is the best chargecooler to go for then chet rather than spending £700 at BB.
The guy at BB told me this.. (between intercooler and chargecooler)
he said...wen ur driving along a motor way, stick ur hand out the window its sort of cold.. however stick a wet hand out the window and its gona get really cold. YES thats tru, but does it work for chargecoolers aswell? :s confused
also..which is a better turbo to go for? the T25 or T28? i'm looking for gains of around 190-200bhp on a standard rebuild F7P for a 19 |

That has absolutely no relevance to the way a normal chargecooler/intercooler works |

The BB chargecooler is the GTT one, if you've seen pics of the BB conversion you'll see how unsuitable it is. I have a pace chargecooler but i got my own made up that is much simpler than the GTT one.
Whether you go for an intercooler or chargecooler depends on a few things
1. Cost, a FMIC will be alot cheaper than a chargecooler
2. Space, a chargecooler can be fitted anywhere without the need for lots of boost pipework. Also because the layout of the clio/19 engine bay its near impossible to get decent intercooler on the front
3. Type of driving, if you're going to constantly have a flow of air into the car then an intercoller will be more efficient than the cc. However if you do lots of 'stop start' driving the cc will be better because even tho its less efficient than an intercooler its isn't prone to heatsoak.
Go with the T28, it boosts from just under 2.5k on a standard F7P and leaves you more open to more power in the future |

thanks for the advice.
well to be honest .. i live in london and everything here is start stop start stop so i'll prob opt for the charge cooler option. Is the charge cooler BB do for the clio 16v not good enuf for the 19? as for getting one made up, where did u get that done from?
As for the T28, i've found a lot of companies in america that are doing brand new units for $850 close to where my cousin lives. Is the GT28RS the same unit BB sell?

p.s do you have pictures of ur engine bay with the charge cooler fitted? |

I got mine made by pace. It hasn't been fitted yet so i've no pics, sorry. I'm not sure what it cost me but it was very close to what the GTT one costs
The GT28RS is probably a little fancier than what BB sell, i'll have a look at mine tomorrow and see what it is exactly |
