Been offered one of these for £150 with 3 months tax/test, 87k, Gunmetal grey not sure how old cos its on Irish plate but the guys going to find out - looks in good nic got tatty Imolas on it, DTM exhaust, half leather interior (my god its dated inside) lad i know loves Pugs but can't get hold of him to ask - any specs / info?
Prefer a valver as my toy car, but since I missed out on that PH1 with 72k on ebay with HG problems for £250 (guy got a better off of £320) I thought this might be a fun thrash around for a bit? |

164bhp, fast as fuck. Better than a valver in every single way. Buy it. Decent ones are worth 10x that sorta money. Buy it |

fast as fuck, ok Chet clearly never driven one then lol
They go for peanuts as they have loads of probs (I can help you fixed loads of em).
It will probably be the later steel block 2 litre effort which isn't as powerful or as nioce as the early 1.9 version.
Not bad but not fast at all and a valver will beat it. |

The car is a 1.9, the guy said they didn't do a 2.0 4wd and that the 1.9 is 20bhp quicker then the 2.0? He thinks its a 1990 which would put it on a G or a J plate. Looks in nice nice nic, its got skirts and archs on it don't know if that was standard though looks like they are similar to the Pug 205.
Wasn't overly impressed, seats were a bit soft, dash was a bit strange especially as the speedo points South to register 0MPH. Took it for a blast pulled quite well but wasn't a particually brilliant ride untill I got to a big empty roundabout and went round a few times - 4wd is fun! Would be better if it wasn't on elcheapo tyres tho lol. The exhaust is a mild steel full system - and is bloody loud. However there is a wheel-bearing type noise coming from under the car - transmission?
Anyway told the guy I'd think about it don't think I'm going to buy it though it just didn't do it for me even though its cheap.
Btw - its 187k not 87k

Unless you're a complete tightarse 150 quid is peanuts. Buy it, drive it to destruction, dump it! |

1.9 is the better engine. it has the full 169bhp opposed to the 2 litres 160 and its a damn sight lighter as well.
Chet how can you prove you have driven more cars than me?
Its not fast at all though and a valver will beat it.
Anyway for 150 quid you should buy it. |
