Chris, surely there is a better way than using a big screwdriver through the gearbox bellhousing to lock the flywheel though? without removing the starter.. |

I never use a screwdriver anyway, you just break teeth off th ering gear.
What are you trying to do? |

i have only once or twice...and only on engine in the garage....cant remember why now tho...but i had a good reason at the time i am sure. |

i used to to open the crank bolt, probably not a good idea but its done now! |

its ok for that chet, but I stick it in gear and put the brakes on to crack them off, saves a lot of wasted time! |

I done it with the flywheel and the big one
the engine was sitting on a pallet at the time chris so i couldn't do that!
I bent the bolt opening the big one which made it fun to get out! |

if you have the engine out and the sump off you lie it on its side and use a bit of wood between the cank throw and the block so it doesn't turn.
What else do I need to teach you? lol the best one was the engine stand! fpmsl! |

I pointed out before that i had learned that myself! I did do it arse about face ways the first tiem tho. SO funny when i think about it but so easy to do! |
