Are the manifolds from the 1.6 energy engine found in the megane compatible with its 1.4 brother?
cheers |

yes they are indeed. The 1.4 manifold doesn't crack either. |

Good will go back to the scrappy for the exhaust manifold then. But what do you mean by the 1.4 doesn't crack. Does the 1.6 one crack then?
Got the launga TB and a spare manifold today for £50. Used the stepper motor from the megane engine and bolted it to the laguna TB instead of the crappy one already attached
Starting to come together.. |

the 1.6 one cracks often. Also it has the egr/blanking for the egr so isn't best for flow.
The carbed 19/early clio 1.4 is the best one. |

yeah lol just getting wires crossed didn't know which manifold you were meaning.
The exhaust manifold is still on the meggy in the scrap yard. Obviously not worth going back to get it then.
p.s. hows that head coming |

Chris,
I'm debating whether or not to go back down to the scrappy and get the exhaust manifold off. Turns out the meggy is a 1.4e after all same as in my phase 3. Both cars have the inlet preheater
Was it just the 1.6e that had EGR? Any way to tell?
Also i assume the rocker cover will be ok to use too... |

the inlet preheater isn;t a problem and the manifold as long as it doesn't have the egr take off is fine.
just reuse your own cam/rocker cover. |

I'd rather take the meggy cover as it looks a better effort than my own
No probs in doing this i assume?
My plan is to use new nuts where i can including both manifolds and the rocker. |
