Right, only noticed this tonight.... my Clio has decided it no longer wants to rev the full 7000rpm to the limiter, and decides to stop my fun at 6000rpm.

Any ideas?

Okay chap, it had been run down to empty as usual!

What's the reason for it doing that then mate? Economy?

when they get low especially if the aux pumps not to great they can severly limit fuel flow.

On the 19's I find they won't rev past 4 grand and won't move the car!

Really?

Fingers crossed that's all it is. The engine itself runs sweet and it's been well looked after going off the SH and it's been in good hands with you and I've done my best to keep it well maintained.

The car never gives me a break though! Having new front bearing fitted Sunday morning, will be touch and go though as I'm meeting Chet Sunday afternoon to collect the new brakes!

Yeah seen your reply in t'other thread matey.

Will these 325mm discs/4-pot calipers run okay on the standard master cylinder and brake lines or would you advise uprated items?

Right, another question.

If I reset the ECU will the 7000rpm limiter be restored? Only reason I ask is that it has been suggested to me that the tacho may be under-reading.

Therefore, if I reset the ECU and the 7krpm limit is definitely restored, then I know the tacho's faulty. Likewise, if the needle goes round to 7krpm then I know it was something else that caused the ECU to drop the limit.

you can only try, there could be a lot of reasons why it won;t go to 7 grand.

Reset the ECU and see what happens matey.

Well not tried resetting the ECU but I have made an interesting discovery just by observing the rpm in relation to speed.

0-60 takes the same time and is the same as it was before the observed change in limit.

A 0-60 run for me before would need 3rd gear at the 7krpm limiter, at which point I'd be doing ~57mph.

Now, a 0-60 run needs 3rd gear at the 6krpm limiter, at which point I'm doing ~57mph!

Basically 0-60 performance is identical, except when I reach the limiter it's at 6k whereas before it would be round to 7k.
