after I sort things out in town I am off down to work on the cars.
Today the blue hatch is getting my attention me thinks.
I have lists for all the cars but the blue hatch hasn't been touched fror a while and i can sort out a few things, like
fit the lower pinchbolt on the nearside,
sort the oil pressure gauge out (I reckon wire to sender),
maybe flush the cooling system a few times,
look at the leaky rear drivers caliper,
change the handbrake cables
thats if i can be bothered to do it all.
I think its a bit to much to ask for today to, remove the dash, engine and ABS system.
If I get the cables off then I will put one onto the exec so it will then have a fully functioning handbrake. |

Mine keep hitting a snag, which is money and soldiers tbh!

well all the 16V's have been shuffled but the hatch is being a dick.
Its clutch stuck to the flywheel again so had to break that free.
then it won;t start back up without a jump so the battery is charging.
I have however got the drivers arch liner off with no problems, even the t20's in the arch came free easily!
Looking at the oil pressure sender wiring, its got the original white sender which may be the main problem! |

I cleaned up the earths on the hatch and exec with the drill and wire brush, no more issues there then!
Hatches alt ouput has gone from 13.2V at 1krpm to 14.5V at 1krpm!
had a go at the oil pressure thing, it sort of works now, somwetimes, I think the sender needs replaced.
Gonna do the lower pinch bolt no methinks.
Also put hose clips etc on the hatch, its cooling system now doesn't leak, heater works well too. |

Finally we have planing permission and all to build a small extension on the house, work starts on Monday.
So I’ve been shifting the ton of assorted junk (car parts, old electric sockets, books, old slide photo’s? slide projector and all to temporary storage. (Don’t look just shift the stuff).
Of course in the middle of all this I decided that the front shocks could need an upgrade. So stop by STAC in Antibes and walk out with a nice new set of Koni sport inserts for the front. Well two years ago I got Koni’s on the back but never got around to the front.
Anyway I think the fronts are the original Renault shocks, they have a Renault stamp at least. So it’s out with the hacksaw and cut off the top off time.
Don’t know if any body has done this but the Koni’s have a lip 36-mm down so I should cut the original 30mm down from the top, and bang a 14mm hole in the bottom.
All good fun but if the misses catches me at it I’m dead. (Well not really but you no how it is).
Can’t wait to feel the difference, but the adjustment is a pain as I think you have to get the spring off. The back ones you can adjust with the car jacked up but It’s a pain.
Apart from that I’m in the middle of a training program for my work, so its all go as usual |
