I'm trying to pick up a cheap clio for a girl as her first car... needs power steering is the only real demand.

Obviously I immediately thought Energy-engined Clio for female maintenace tolerance Rolling Eyes

This one looks quite good, and not too far away so we're going for a look this weekend...

Might hold out for a tidy one with a knackered gearbox for £50 or something though and then fix it...

get the 1.4

chances of that staying at £100 are very slim.

yeah i appreciate i wont be able to get it for 100 tokens but she was planning on spending £2000 on a car, and I'm sure I can get it less than that!

that red one is ideal.

1.2 don't bother.

1.4 rt is the one to go for. rt has leccy windows, central locking and the 6 speakers setup, radio andf ciggy lighter.

base models come with very little in some cases no radio or cig lighter.

Avoid automatics.

Yeah almost all RT's came with power steering - I think some Ph1's came without it, but if you are looking at ph2's and 3's anyway then they all have them IIRC.
