williams vs 1.8 16v

What are the performance differences between a valver and a willy? need to know got plans hatching!! Twisted Evil

Willy 1 no 190 Recently restored for sale pm for details!

Correct me if im wrong but 0-60ish 7.8sec for both due to the 1.8 not needing to gear change as early as the Willy- because 1.8s rev higher. After that I think the Williams pull clear

130- 1.8 16v

135-Williams?

well to start with the obvious:

willy is a 2.0 with 150 bhp

compared to 1.8 with 137 bhp

7.7 to 60 on a Valver (1.8 16v) and 7.5 on a Williams. Not much in it to 60 as the Williams needs 3rd gear for 60 due to a lower rev limiter.

As stated though the Williams has an extra 13Bhp on the Valver. not sure about how different the torque is.

Valver will probably see about 140 on the clocks; 130Mph book speed.

Williams will see about 145+ on the clocks. Can't remeber the book top speed. About 140(ish).

Williams is obviously the superior car in the power, control and desireablilty sections but a Valver is a lot cheaper in most cases.

hardly much in it really.

but if you want to be picky about power then its the williams.

if you just want a decent hot hatch then its the valver.

got a williams at the moment, but don't really want to modify it due to the fact of the limited numbers. really was looking at getting a valver, dropping it on coilovers, some of the widest schmidt rims you'd ever seen, smoothing the entire body off and boosting the power with some throttle bodies and a polished and ported head. But thinking f*ck it and make a mental williams! Cool

You shouldn't mod a Williams. It's like hitting a woman, you just don't do it, no matter how much of a bitch she is.
