Hi everyone, I have just been offered Nickel plated gaz coilovers instead of the usual Galvanized ones, as I have no idea of the difference... can someone let me know.. but I was told the Nickel are better.. and usually more money.

Thanks.

Just arranged to buy them, I found that they are normally another £100 as Nickel plated is like chrome finish and Galvanized is more 'gold' in colour, they were for a show car but the deadline was too late, so I have bought them...at no extra cost. Cant wait to see them now... I like a bit of bling.

oh... I'll find out more about them denting before I buy them... so your saying they are cheap shite?

These are the same... but galvanized.. they dont look like they stick up any further than my Konis adj.

In gaz and k-tecs defence they sent me out a new set of redesigned shocks without even seeing/inspecting them

I haven't tested the new ones but i'm gonna put it down to being a bad batch

I was blessed i was only doing 30!

Chet, I'm pretty much commited to buy these now, how long ago was this.. as they said its been a long time since they supplied coloured coils.. they only supply black now... this is just to ask how long ago this happened? Have they been redesigned since?

When the shock broke the wheel obviously collapsed in so the whole shock shifted in the top mount. You can see where the tire was hitting it, theres rubber everywhere!

Anyway, it was broken and i needed to get home so i drove it.

Just gave them a quick call, they have changed their tubing now since then which was a long time ago as u said, its much higher quality and harder wearing now... they are only just down the road from me, so I will have them fit the kit for me as well, they said theres a 2 year warranty...and even afterwards they will be happy to help with any probs or concerns should I need them.

The Ren19 was a different kit as u said, and it was in its 1st development stages back then, so I think you were one of the very 1st. I'm happier after speaking to them, and you were good enough to say you'd have no worries fitting the new kit you have now. I would say if anyones unsure, to give them a call.. they were very easy to talk to and explained everything in detail... and didnt deny the early kits were not 100%.

p.s They said they knew nothing about the bonnets being dented, but will check this when I see them to have them fitted.

I didn't deal with them direct, i bought them from k-tec so thats who i took it up with.

BTW it was bad welding on mine rather than bad materials that caused the break
