Been meaning to do this since i picked up my 19 16v, but unfortuanately I baught a lemon and have been restoring her for ages.

finally got her working perfectly 10 days ago and then a BMW slammed his anchors on and alas due to being wet my baby didn't stop......

So baught another 19 16v this weekend, and spent a painful weekend repairing bodywork and other bits..... got leather interior now tho Wink

will get pics up once i have finished...........

one thing tho, I always thaught that the 19 16v was supposed to be quick when you hit 4k, however mine doesn't seem that quick? am I expecting too much?? I have a subaru impreza as a toy so maybe I am????

Thatnks for listening Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

chances are your 19's fecked, don't take that wrong, 90% of them have been ragged and neglected badly due to the cars cheapness to buy.

how can i tell whether the engine is worn out? is it the big ends that give??

I know the tappets are rattling and need doing, but i don't think that will cause the power loss.

It wheel spins like it's on speed or something..... since buying it i have done all the engine flushing (oils and coolents), plugs, leads, engine mounts, sensors, throttle body, belts, ball joints, drive shafts, and a few other bits.

She runs lovely at just over 900 RPM, accelorates brilliantly, just doesn't have kick at 4.5k, that is when the tappets rattle?

will take some pics later, once i have finished repairing her, and have given her a bath lol

gotta fit the leather interior and finish repairing the broken bits. wheels need to be painted as well.

you guys won't like my spoiler lol nice GT wing on the saloon, I like it, you guys may not.

Use the car for work, and gave it a tourer look just for fun, and my little one convinced me to fit the neons lol

oh no, neons........ im pretty sure, that i read somewhere that you should not, under any circumstances, engine flush the 19 16v, can anyone confirm this for me????? the only reason i'm saying this is because i was going to, and i really think it was in the handbook, but i may be wrong, if i am right, could that be your problem?

otherwise, are you expecting a turbo to kick in around there?
