car started doing this today. left indicator works as normal, but the right one goes ten to the dozen. Anyone know why it might be doing this?

Obviously you've never had a front or rear indicator bulb go then mate? Wink

That'll be why! Stick your hazards on and have a wander round the car Wink

It's actually a requirement for cars to have an audible intecator noise for this purpose and also if the indicators have been left on.

I was always told that if your indicator went 10 to the dozen it was because your wheels had fallen off.

a bulb has blown.

Also though intresting enough the wrong wattage bulbs can make them flash quicker to.

Maybe her spare wheel was the only one to fall off?

It sounds like older cars like the 19 probably use a primitive system based on the one we were taught in physics at school - a bimetalic strip - and newer ones like the megane have it all computer controlled instead, hence why the indicators don't speed up when a bulb blows. Kinda computerisation for computerisations sake if you ask me, and not very useful - how are you supposed to know your indicators are blown??
